#4 Round Tall CowPots
After many requests by growers for a 4″ Round pot, our#4 Round Tall is now available. This size is optimal for vegetables that need more time in the greenhouse before transplanting to the field, like peppers, tomatoes and eggplant.
#3 Square CowPots
Preferred for herbs, vegetables or other annuals intended for quick turnaround from seeding to transplanting. The #3 square is great for step up transplants to larger planting containers or direct transplants to ground post frost. This pot is particularly well suited for getting a jump start on cucurbits. Many competitive giant pumpkin growers discovered our pots to give them the leading advantage!
#12 Square CowPots
Used in our own greenhouse for planting bulbs, large chrysanthemums and combination planters. The larger pot size maintains ability to rapidly decompose once planted.
Here’s what we were up to this past fall:
World Dairy Summit
Amanda and Matt traveled to France for the World Dairy Summit as Innovation Award finalists. We met producers, food handlers, and packaging specialists all connected to some aspect of the dairy supply chain from around the world. But we were still the only people in the room that do what we do with poop!
Fall Cleanup in the Garden
We did a lot of prepping the garden for winter and tossing the annual patio planters into the compost. We love dumping out the combination planters at the end of the season and discovering the few remnants of the CowPot remaining after just a couple months!
Scooping Poop from the Digester
We cleaned a digester… Yes, it was as much fun as it sounds! Part of fall clean up around here is ensuring that our anaerobic digester is ready to tolerate the cold temperatures of winter and still keep manure at the temperature preferred by the digesting microorganisms – 100.3 degrees.
