 Udder Genius (Easton, East Canaan, Wethersfield) – Three of the state’s oldest agricultural institutions: Hart Seed Co. in Wethersfield, Gilbertie's Herb Gardens in Easton and Freund Family Farm in East Canaan are teaming up to go green! These days, more than 250 head of cattle call the Freund Farm home. And with a lot of cows comes a lot of manure! It is a dirty job, but somebody’s got to find an eco-friendly way to get rid of it. So, the agriculturalists created CowPots. See why they’re good for the environment and for garden plants too.

On February 2, 2008 Master Gardener Joe Lamp'l reveal CowPots™ as one of "The Best of the Must-Haves for 2008" at the Southeastern Flower Show in Atlanta, GA.  Joe is a Master Gardener, Certified Landscape Professional, author, syndicated columnist, speaker/presenter, national television host, and radio personality.  Joe was the host of Fresh from the Garden on the DIY Network and currently hosts GardenSMART on PBS television.  Joe is the founder of The joe gardener Company®, an organization dedicated to bringing smart eco-friendly resources for better gardening to novices as well as seasoned veterans.
